We love Mount Olive Lutheran School because of its Christ centered education and small community feel!

The teachers and staff have helped them thrive as unique individuals academically and spiritually.

Mount Olive prepared me academically and socially for the transition from grade school to high school, college, and ultimately the workforce.

I developed life-long friendships that I still treasure to this day. Because of my experiences and the benefits from Mount Olive, my husband and I decided to give our children this same great education.

Why Should I consider Mount Olive Lutheran School?

1.  God's Word is taught

"You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul .... And you shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up."  (Deuteronomy 11:18-19)

When deciding how to manage your children's education, it only makes sense to ask the One who invented education. Mount Olive offers a Christ-centered learning environment, based on the Bible. Not only is the Bible taught for what it is - the inspired Word of God - but it forms the foundation of all other texts.  In math, in social studies, in science, all academic roads lead to God.

2.  The school shares your values

If you're like most Christian parents, you've taught your children about God since the day they were born. You've taken them to church, read them Bible stories, sung "Jesus Loves Me." At Mount Olive, those habits are encouraged and supported on a daily basis. Our students attend chapel weekly, listen to Bible stories and devotions daily, and glorify God with their voices raised in song regularly.

By entrusting your children to a school with teachers who share your values, the faith foundation you work so hard to instill in your children at home will be reinforced tenfold at school. Our students are encouraged to have loving and respectful relationships with teachers and other students, taught how to apologize and forgive, and shown the grace of God by their teachers. We believe that teaching Christian love and values is a part of our job as your children's teachers.

3.  Academic Achievement

Our students consistently out-perform their public school counterparts. Their standardized test scores are way above the curve, and they're better prepared for high school upon graduation.

4.  Teachers love and fear the Lord

Part of the reason why our students perform so well in the classroom is that they have teachers who genuinely care about them. You will find the teachers at Mount Olive to be well-educated, with many holding a master's degre. Our teachers truly love their students like their own children. Just ask them and they'll tell you exactly how blessed they are to teach our students each and every day.

Teachers are a school's heartbeat.  Its pulse.  They are also among the most influential role models in students' lives. Our teachers live out their faith everyday in the classroom. They pray with and for their students. They are a living example of what it looks like to live your life for Christ. They share their passion and love for God with their students.

5.  Individual Attention

In addition to having a higher percentage of caring teachers, Mount Olive offers more individual attention to our students on a daily basis.

"Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17).

Mount Olive boasts a student teacher ratio of 10:1 and most of our class sizes have less than 15 students.  We have smaller, more intimate gatherings that encourage students to be participants rather than spectators.  Students learn how to think quickly, and gain valuable experience sharing their thoughts and opinions with their classmates.

6.  Success after graduation

Because our students perform at a higher level in the classroom, it only makes sense that their options upon graduation are more abundant. Our students and parents return to Mount Olive telling of their excellent grades and classroom performance in high school, crediting Mount Olive for their solid academic and spiritual foundation.

7.  Peer Pressure

Make no mistake: your kids will be exposed to bad company no matter where they go to school. But in a Christian environment, they'll be much less likely to find themselves surrounded by destructive influences, and far more likely to find positive ones. We think we have some of the best students around! They care for and support one another no matter their differences. Our junior high students have strong relationships with our youngest students and act as positive role models to them on a daily basis. Bullying is virtually non-existent at Mount Olive, every student is welcomed and encouraged to be the special child that God created them to be.
